When your old system gives out, the equipment you choose matters - but so does how it gets put in. We just wrapped up a full Tempstar system install for a homeowner who was done dealing with an unreliable setup. New outdoor condenser, new air handler inside, and an A.O. Smith water heater alongside it. A complete mechanical overhaul done in one shot.
Here's the thing about HVAC installs that most people don't think about - a brand-new unit can underperform for years if it's not installed correctly. Refrigerant charge, proper line connections, drainage, airflow - all of it has to be right from day one. We take that seriously on every job, rain or shine. Literally.
The air handler is running R-454B refrigerant, which is the newer, lower-GWP refrigerant standard you'll be seeing on modern equipment going forward. It's a small detail, but it tells you the system is current and built to last. Paired with the outdoor Tempstar condenser sitting level on a solid pad, this setup is ready to handle summer heat and beyond.
We also knocked out a water heater installation at the same time. Getting both done together saves the homeowner the hassle of scheduling two separate visits - and it means everything is fresh, warrantied, and working together efficiently. If you've been putting off a replacement because your system is still "kind of" working, that's usually the most expensive way to do it. Waiting until it fails in the middle of a heat wave is no fun for anyone.
